Denise says: "it's hell being busily employed". Denise, I can recommend medblogger Enoch Choi as a good insight to what that world is doing, & especially look for the "grand rounds" postings he occasionally hosts or contributes to.

Grace has connected with Sam Perry at Digital Visions re Katrina blogs. Grace, I'd like to connect you to a group of people doing a blog / forum site for a bunch of high school kids at Warren Easton HS in New Orleans who are using the web to stay connected after being dispersed.

I have a new job announcement coming up, more on that when I actually have everything signed & all.

Tish is accused of being too nice to have a blog called "Snarkaholic". I wonder how much of what we present to the world of who we are is deliberately constructed - you should be able to set out to be positive and happy in your blog & would that make you happy in real life? to ponder.

Dennis started a discussion saying "people who set out to make a difference can't afford to be nice". I would take issue with that - though you might have to be tough along the way and not back down in the guise of niceness. I have seen some unfailingly polite people be very dogged in getting their voice heard and in getting their way.

Bill notes a transit strike in NYC. Curiously I found out about the strike not from the blogs or the NY Times but from a photo of a shuttered station on Flickr.

Nancy asks how many organizations approach problems as if they are chemical reactions to be managed, without remembering that these need catalysts to make them go.

Jim was in on the call but by the time he connected I had note-taking fatigue.
